its still pretty much exactly the same. though I still suggest holding off on the learning skills till 2-3 months into your game time just so that you have time to learn skills that actually allow you to do some stuff first.
Originally posted by ZarraaWe'll agree to disagree then IMO mixing the two is precisely what this game needs. Picking up and transporting ground troops, providing cover or even taking fire from ground placements would be huge! Those amazing flight skills aren't all that amazing if you but can't handle ground fireor provide cover.
That probably will happen at some point in time, Ever boarding a ship to capture it is probably never going to happen. Whatever parts of EVE CCP decides to create will interact with all the other, how they interact may be structured to only allow certain things like surface bombardment, and orbital battery fire but I guarntee that they will be limited such as only certain ships/weapons can be used and a specific range for the defense emplacements. Things such as Boarding ships just won't work due to the fact that a ship can be easily destroyed with far less hassle and risk and time then it would be to try and take it over with troops. Unless you allow it to be taken over in less then 1 minute where the defender actually has a say in the matter then it won't happen.
I View'd QR as a base for things to come, The foundation to really build onto the game, while dong some minor touch ups and tweaks that were needed (regardless of whether or not you thought they were needed). Now the march release will be the laying of the structure of the building.

The point is, that it doesn't offer anything different, than what's already being offered , and it's debateable whether it's an improvement. The LOTRO implementation makes more sense, maybe Blizzard should have stolen it more accurately.
So now you can not even play with your friends if you different level but now you have problems if your even in different sections of the same story arc... how is this good? I see this as more of a step backwards into further making the MMORPG everything but MMO.
If CCP ever includes a ground game I would expect that it would be very similar to Supremecommander in that you would have a Pod Pilot commander in a Sutibly sized command Mech/Tank/aircraft controling himself and one or more groups of drone units/Personnel. The ability to directly control those individuals may alos be possible.
Do you Role Play?
