    • DAOC Vets, post your DAOC/WAR comparisons here!
    • If they applied the WAR engine (graphics/UI/etc) into the DAOC world, I would be back in a heartbeat.

DAOC will always be my favorite all-time MMO. The setting was fantastic, the selection of classes legendary, and the mechanics (RvR/Darkness Falls/etc) was amasing. At least, for the first year or two. ToA messed things up a bit ;).

WAR has most of the RvR fun DAOC had (not quite as much, though), with NONE of the PvE enjoyment. I hate WAR's PvE game, and have grown tired of the RvR already (in T3).

Now, I'm playing LotRO for my PvE immersion, while waiting for Origins!

1st intraduce a forth realm oriental realm plenty ideas classes villages and to make a point why this aspect would be good a it will bring you lots of new players especialy far eastern players maybe be inventive make all keeps towers look difrent in frontiers more sybolic to the nation who owns em .

2nd idea is far over due inter realm rvr dont make it easy maybe a mob takes few groups to kill in the main dungeon in classic in all realms you get a crystel off it to open portal to one of 3 port arival locations in enemy realm make it posible to capture villages and obviously toughen up gaurds a bit make it a challenge and say for each village taken weekens gaurds up in capital and give them opatunity to open up port and make it dificult to kill the king of the city but a posibility if they achive this they get a special item or award .

i mean both ideas are basic and spacific and it would make daoc more fun and proper advertisement maybe make these things a expanshion ile be stunned if this wouldnt make this game no 1 on the market come on mythic this game was a good game once make it a legend now it deserves better

Quick recommendation -- type out your posts in Word (or a comparable word processor) and let it do it's magic... the spelling and grammar in this post make it almost impossible to read. I'm trying not to be harsh, but you have some pretty decent ideas that most people will never really read because of the presentation aspect.

      1. Eastern-theme: I think this has a lot of merit, although the thought of another realm to be balanced against the other three is more than a small undertaking. Not to mention the creation of a completely new set of art/assets. If DAOC were in its prime, this might happen, but it would be an unlikely investment back into the game at this point.

      2. I can't understand most of the second idea, but I think it ties into a server type Mythic had considered once upon a time. They proposed the idea of allowing the RvR to go a certain extent into other realms, allowing guards/NPCs to be killed. I think this would have been a great idea, as it would have put the conflict right into the midst of many player's experience, without making it a 100% global PvP.

      Dark Age of Camelot
    • WOTLK Is Amazing
    • WoW is just so... WoW.

I'm glad the OP was able to find the "amazement" factor all over again. It gets harder and harder for games to capture that initial feeling when you play your first real MMO.

I don't care for WoW's art direction, class breakdown, or punishing specc system, so I know WotLK won't mean anything to me. It is good to hear that Blizzard continues to raise their own bar though... makes me think Diablo 3 will be fantastic when it comes out ;).

      World of Warcraft
    • How much take...
    • I'll ignore the massive gramamtical errors and ask for a clarification instead. Are you asking:

      1. How many MB is the patch between the demo to the latest release?

      2. How many MB is the patch for Moria?

      3. How large is the final installation on your computer (installation plus patches)?

If it isn't one of those three, I don't have the foggiest notion what you are asking.
