I wouldn't expect it to be the next big thing, honestly. It's a relatively small studio, and foreign to boot. They're using the Unreal engine, I believe the same version as Lineage 2 began with. They have a free-to-play plan, so it's going to draw in some of the wrong kiddie crowd.
But if they can bring together a vibrant, organized, and viable PvP experience, they can certainly have a stable customer/player base. This Acclaim thing and multi-publisher idea is just not smart and NOT going to help them. They should have just had an online release only and skip boxes. We'll see how this works out though. I'm sure more opinions will trickle in as people get the opportunity to start playing.
I've tried on a few instances to register on both the Acclaim site, as well as the Spellborn/Acclaim site. Their sites have been either down completely, or the registration process doesn't work and hangs indefinitely... I don't know whose idea this partnership was, but making players who tend to make up a majority of customers wait several extra weeks to play is not a very smart approach. Then having a half-working site represent the game is a huge turn-off to the potential user base... And no information about what is going on.
It's a song you'll hear until your ears BLEED when playing Fallout 3. Nice music, but needs WAY more variation.
They may have class quests, but I'm sure they start in the same way and areas as the other members of their race. It wouldn't really work too well if the new classes were separated from the other characters. So, you'll be in the same place if you've used the same race before, but I'm sure it will be a completely different experience.
AVG is coming up with a virus thread detection on the main page again. This happened a few months ago, and it's doing it again. It's trying to install an activex control for remote data (which is really not cool). So, could someone from the site tech dept. please take down whatever is causing that?
