    • Trying out WOTLK and already bored

I have to say, I'm already bored - it's the same thing as I did in TBC and quite frankly the graphics are terrible, blocky and the armors look awful (it doesn't help that I'm a human and the human models are blocky and ugly)

The quests are the same old stuff, and although there's some cutscene bits, it's the same gather xp by doing pointless stuff that I've seen before. There's no decent PVP, and I miss the tactics and immediate PVP from Warhammer, where I levelled by doing a rotation of scenarios while questing and doing PQ stages.

I'll continue to 80 and farm Naxx 25man, Malygos and Sart with my old guild for a bit. They've already killed every boss in the game and I'll just pick up the epics when I get there, but for now I find the expansion to be a boring, easy and soulless cash-cow.

What is up with you?  Did you expect a major change? Remember NGE and what it did to swg?  Major changes are risky and players are fickle.  They are doing what millions have paid them for and because it obvsiously worked.

      World of Warcraft
    • mmorpg.com forums "sponsored" by game devs?
    • Are you advocates for the game makers for the game consumers?  You can't be both, at somepoint one matters more than the other.

What bothers me is the effects of your policies.  Look at the thread regarding darkfall warnings the other day.  It was official and it seems to leave questions unanswered.  The specific thing that bothers me is Darkfall seems to be able to say whatever they want and you will allow it and yet we are not allowed to get real factual feedback about the game.

It seems extremely one sided.  One sided situations rub me the wrong way.

      Darkfall
    • scenarios and world rvr
    • Scenarios are little games which reset when players fail to secure the victory conditions or they beat the victory conditions.

World RVR are massive games which reset when players fail to secure the victory conditions or they beat the victory conditions.  Basically if you don't beat the right rvr target in the time expected, you get a reset.  Even if you win, after some time, you get a reset.  It feels like a large scale scenario.

Taking objectives feels too gamey to me.  It is like instead of  taking a bridge to prevent the other side from crossing, you are getting points for it.  Just venting a bit here, but this isn't what I was hoping it would be (my assumption pre-release).

There have been a lot of people complaining about scenarios being played instead of world rvr, but to my thinking, it seems like the same game only different in size and numbers.  Anyone else feel the same way?

Only to have that thread promptly moved to the AC1 forum. Where of course it will be completely ignored.

Was that the whole idea? If not, would you please cut us a little more slack to talk about what we wish to here. Thanks very much.

Read the RoC, link at the bottom of this page. I believe complaining about mods will get you in hot water also.

What you shoulda did was title the post something like 'Why the current generation of MMOs don't compare to the old" and then used AC as your primary example in the body of the post.

      * Posting in boards that clearly have nothing to do with your topic is not tolerated. Typically, posts of this nature will be moved to the appropriate board.
Example: A post in the EverQuest II boards about how much you love World of WarCraft is off topic.

Torak is correct about this. IMO, this site need more rules of conduct and should be more strick about posting and banning.

What are your views on PvP?

I don't like PvP combat.
I think it is the best part about MMORPG's.
I don't care either way.
