This Week on Xbox – Lots of Retro Fun (April 12-16)

This week on Xbox seems like a golden opportunity for fans of retro gaming whether in graphics or good old-fashioned gameplay. Microsoft has a heaping helping of great games for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and for the Xbox Game Pass. In short, it’s another terrific week for console and PC gaming goodness.

Knight Squad 2 (Xbox One X Enhanced)

Knight Squad 2 is a chaotic arcade multiplayer game for up to 8 players. Pick an eccentric knight and fight for glory with wacky weaponry. Triumph over your friends in a ridiculous amount of game modes, both locally and online.

Kingdom of Arcadia (Optimized for Xbox Series X/S)

Kingdom of Arcadia is a metroidvania spanning five levels, each with multiple missions to undertake. Sam will encounter a wide variety of enemies, huge bosses and other obstacles in pixelated retro presentation. Fortunately, he can level up and buy new gear from shops to aid in the daunting adventure that lies ahead!

The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa

Basically, the game is an existential open world beat’em up with some school sim elements. It has a little of everything: a town to explore, day-night cycle, npc on their schedule, battle grinding, school grinding, mini-games (ping-pong, billiard, video-poker, video-game console with one game…) and so on.

Hitchhiker is a mystery game set along lost highways, where your goal is to solve the puzzle of your own backstory.
