Blowfish Studios and WhaleFood Games have announced that KungFu Kickball has launched into Steam Early Access. The team-based sports game “melds martial arts action with team-based sports and platforming”. Those looking to relive their playground prowess will definitely want to reunite the team or play alone to take on this new era of gaming.
Players engage one another in 1v1 and 2v2 competitive arena matches. Each player selects one of five martial arts masters that can “execute acrobatic maneuvers and send the ball rocketing towards opponent’s bell to score. As expected, the more goals, the better the chance of winning. Players can also hone their skills through the training mode before heading into competitive matches.
With a jump, strike, and short-range teleportation dash, every martial athlete has the opportunity to ring the bell and win matches. The game’s minimalist control scheme emphasizes pick-up-and-play accessibility while still offering competitors the chance to showcase skills and quick reflexes at higher levels as they launch offensive flurries or make defensive stands.
