Apex Legends is Making Its Way to Mobile Devices

Following the release on Nintendo Switch, Respawn Entertainment’s Battle Royale Apex Legends is preparing to conquer mobile devices. In a blog post, the team shared that the first regional beta tests for Apex Legends Mobile will be kicking off later this month.

“This is a huge moment for our team. Two years ago we changed the landscape of the battle royale genre, and now we’re aiming to do it again on mobile.”

The mobile version of the game is designed with touchscreens in mind, with streamlined controls and thoughtful optimizations that result in the most advanced battle royale combat available on a phone. While it will technically be a new version of the game, it will stay true to the original.

The developers also shared the FAQ that you can find by following the link to the blog post above or by checking the summarised version below:

  • The team will be steadily rolling out Apex Legends Mobile around the world in a series of tests. As the tests continue, the devs will expand the size, add new regions and implement iOS support.
  • The game is being built specifically for mobile, it won’t feature cross-play with the console or PC versions of Apex Legends.
  • The mobile version is free-to-play and never includes paid items that grant a gameplay advantage. Apex Legends Mobile will feature its own Battle Passes, collectible cosmetics, and unlockables unique from those found in the PC and console versions of Apex Legends.
