BPM, the shorter name for Awe Interactive’s explosive musical shooter BPM: Bullets Per Minute, is out now on console.

Launched just yesterday, the explosive reappearance of BPM on our release radar marks a leap for this rhythm based FPS adventure, moving from PC to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The port of this very different mix of hard riffs and big action is also playable on Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5 thanks to backward compatibility and comes to console thanks to Playtonic Friends, the new publishing arm of developer Playtonic.

Thankfully, the new port of BPM comes with a fully loaded arsenal of features for console gamers. You’ll plunge into a seemingly inescapable dungeon where the only way out is through. Demons, monsters, and horrific pixelated problems stand in the way. While this swift and relentless style of FPS shooter might seem commonplace after DOOM Eternal, BPM does it all to the beat of a killer soundtrack. Just like Crypt of the Necrodancer, players must choose their weapon and pull the trigger while hitting the beat. The new release includes content added since the original launch a little over a year ago – five brand new characters that let you play in a new unique way, three new weapons to increase the tempo, a brand new chapter with its own unique enemies, two new difficulties, and a mixture of brand new items, achievements, and tweaks.

With plenty of dungeons, tons of ways to play, and some superb boss battles, BPM is likely to blow away much of the competition. You can check out the release trailer above and head over to the official website for more detail.
