DC Universe Service Expands Comic Book Offering

DC Universe announced today it’s first major expansion of the service’s online comic book library. DC is quoted as saying:

…more than doubles the comic book offering available to members

This is great news for what is arguably one of the weak spots in the online subscription service that launched in September of 2018. The library is said to grow to include acclaimed series such as Batman: Hush, Gotham Central, Flashpoint, Infinite Crisis, Harley Quinn, Static Shock, Superman: For All Seasons and Wonder Woman. Even with this expansion, DC Universe’s online comic book library still pales in comparison to Marvel’s Unlimited service, who boasts over 20,000 titles in their library, but this is a great next step for DC Universe!

New additions will include many titles that fans have been asking for along with a significant increase in the number of full story arcs and complete series runs. The overall volume of choices will be expanded by more than double by the end of March to include thousands of select DC single issues representing legendary story arcs from 80s classics to the New 52 line, the acclaimed DC Rebirth line and beyond.

Senior vice president and general manager of DC Digital Services, Sam Ades, added:

When launching DC Universe we knew the comic reader was an area that we wanted to expand and provide more choice. Fans want a place to discover new titles and the opportunity to enjoy full arcs of iconic and notable storylines from start to finish. We are listening to fans and responding with an expanded comic book offering that improves the overall DC Universe experience.
