I’m barely done tapping my fingers and Dancing in Starlight, yet it’s already time to go on another Adventure with The Phantom Thieves. In an announcement that is sure to excite Persona fans, Atlus has unveiled Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth.
The follow up to Persona Q, the very first Persona title to appear on the Nintendo 3DS, Persona Q2 is a single player dungeon crawler that takes the traditions of Persona and brings them back to Nintendo’s portable platform for another unique adventure. Promising a thought-provoking story, this Persona title takes players on a homage to popular film genres, with a range of challenging dungeons that parody popular celluloid stories and include a ton of references to the old silver screen.
Persona Q2 includes a whole roster of recognizable characters for fans returning to this series. Characters from Persona 3, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4, and Persona 5’s own Phantom Thieves all feature. This new story follows Persona 5’s Joker as the Phantom Thieves meet the S.E.E.S from, Persona 3 and P3P’s own protagonist even manages a pivotal appearance.
It’s not all nostalgia with Persona Q2. The second 3DS game brings an evolution of the Persona Q and Persona 5 combat system, introducing a new Unison feature, allowing specific groups to combine and unleash special attacks. The Japanese voice cast of Persona 3 feature for the first time too, giving even ardent Persona fans something to look forward to.
Persona Q2 is due out on Nintendo 3DS June 4, 2019. We already know the game will be available as a launch and special edition, with the special edition coming in at $69.99. For fans interested in the special edition, publisher Atlus has outlined the features below:
