DC Celebrates 80 Years Of Batman

DC Comics is celebrating 80 years of Batman this month. Which of us hasn’t been touched with fond memories of the 1960’s cult classic Batman TV series featuring Adam West and Burt Ward? Since Batman first appeared in Detective Comics #27 on March 30, 1939, Batman, and the “Bat Family”, continue to leave their mark in every form of entertainment imaginable.

Batman 80 Years Conventions

The celebration continues on in print as DC Comics has a few things up their bat sleeves. Paying homage to the Batman’s 80-year publishing history, DC unveils two commemorative books: including the landmark collector’s issue of Detective Comics #1000, featuring a collector’s trove of variant covers, on sale at comics shops March 27, and a special hardcover release, Detective Comics: 80 Years Of Batman The Deluxe Edition, available March 19.
