New Games on Xbox One This Week – Sinking Cities and Samurai

The Sinking City

Callooh Callay! What a wonderful day, and the only thing that could make it better is a list of New Games on Xbox One This Week! As this is the last week before July hits and summer is in full swing, you NEED to get your games before the heat hits. You can’t be stuck inside without a library full of new games to keep you out of that terribly bright sun. Don’t feel bad if all you’d like to do is sit quietly in a cool dark room with nothing more than the glow of a good video game on your TV screen to keep you warm. Just be sure to do your loved ones one favor and lather up in some Xbox Deodorant first. Now, on to the main even, New Games on Xbox One This Week!

Put on your overalls and grease up your forearms, because this week in Car Mechanic Simulator, you can “build and expand your repair service empire in this incredibly detailed and highly realistic simulation game, where attention to car detail is astonishing. Find classic, unique cars in the new Barn Find module and Junkyard module.” If you’ve ever wanted to be a mechanic and run your own shop, don’t do it, just get this game instead and save yourself the cost of tools and a lot of sweat.

Samurai Shodown

Release: June 25th 2019

For all my Samurai Shodown fans that have been waiting 11 years for another installment, wait no further. “It is now time for Samurai Shodown to return in a brand-new game featuring high-end visuals and gameplay and faithfully reproducing the game mechanics and atmosphere that contributed to the success of the series, including a revolutionary feature that learns players’ actions and patterns to create CPU-controlled “ghost” characters.” If that doesn’t do it for you, or if you’re still on the fence, check out our full review right here.

Monster Jam Steel Titian

Release: June 25th 2019

Monsters aren’t all hair, fangs, and tentacles. In Monster Jam Steel Titans, the Monsters are ALL TRUCKS. Get your trucker hats all brushed up and ready for action, because in Monster Jam Steel Titans you get “all the trucks, stunts, stadiums, racing, and massive air in one game. Play in various game modes including Stadium and Outdoor Racing, complete various Stunt Challenges and Destruction modes, and hear the roar of crowds inside 12 stadiums packed with fans.” If that isn’t enough Monster Trucking for you, then I just don’t know what is!

We. The Revolution

Release: June 25th 2019

French Judges. Did that pique your interest? What about the French Revolution?  Maybe you’re just a little curious.  Well how about passing judgement on potential war criminals in very story heavy strategy style game? There we go. Now that we have your attention, take a ganer at We. The Revolution, which is a “unique game with a singular art style set in the blood-soaked and paranoid world of the French Revolution. As a judge of the Revolutionary Tribunal, you will pass sentences and play a dangerous political game.” In a world where no answer is obvious, this one should keep you guessing for a while.

Shadow Fencer Theater

Release: June 26th 2019

All puppets are good puppets, but shadow puppets are probably the most overlooked, and under server puppets in all of the puppetverse. Luckily Shadow Fencer means to change all of your perceptions of shadow puppets in a “competitive awkward physics sword fighting game set in the world of shadow puppets. Take center stage with a unique cast of characters and make your way to become a Grandmaster of the theatre.” With several game modes, and a wild take on puppet characters, this game seems poised to be a whole host of fun.

Attack of the Toy Tanks

Release: June 26th 2019

You may think to yourself, “hey, what ever happened to all of the toy tanks?” Did they all disappear after the great Toy Tank War of 1999. When will toy tanks be relevant again? The answer is NOW. In Attack of the Toy Tanks, you will “take control of the provided vehicle of war and battle it out across different arenas and be the last tank standing.” With the potential of fighting AI enemies and real players, the toy tanks will RISE AGAIN!

Outbreak: Lost Hope

Release: June 26th 2019

Hope is missing. No, she wasn’t your responsibility, but listen, there’s a nation-wide outbreak out there, and there’s undead doing unsavory zombie type things. As Gwen you will “experience a mother’s desperate search for her daughter during a nation-wide epidemic.” If bears have taught us anything, it’s that you can’t get between a mother and her cub. Therefore, Outbreak Lost Hope is unlikely to disappoint in the zombie dispatching department.

War Tech Fighters

Release: June 27th 2019

War Tech Fighters, or WTF is a mechish style game where “the rebel colonies of Hebos and Ares have joined forces to battle against the Zatros empire with the deadliest weapons ever built: War Techs. Taking space combat to a whole new level, War Techs are giant mechs that combine cold precision and state of the art technology in the battlefields of space.” In true mech fashion you’ll be upgrading and outfitting your mechs to your hearts desire. Mech lovers please apply.

The Sinking City

Release: June 27th 2019

Do you LOVE H.P. Lovecraft.  Love is already in the name, but if your answer is no, perhaps you love Cthulu inspired games? Either way, The Sinking City is one of the coolest games that may have flown under your radar. This mystery adventure revolves around “the half-submerged city of Oakmont (which) is gripped by supernatural forces. You’re a private investigator, uncovering the truth of what has possessed the city and corrupted the minds of its inhabitants… and yours.” While the jury is still out on whether you’ll see ol’ squidface in this title, it will most certainly be one of the games that 2019 is known for.

F1 2019

Release: June 27th 2019

Maybe F1 racing interests you. Maybe you like the roar of the engine and the smell of burnt rubber and metal chassis breaking 200 MPH. If this sounds like you, then you like F1 2019.  “F1 2019 features all the official teams, drivers, and all 21 circuits from the 2019 season. This year sees the inclusion of F2 with players being able to complete the 2018 season with the likes of George Russell, Lando Norris, and Alexander Albon.” With a full fledged career mode, even if F1 racing isn’t your thing, this may be just the racer you’re looking for where career play is concerned.

Furwind

Release: June 27th 2019

The return of pixel action platformers is something that we at GameSpace can’t get enough of.  Furwinds cutesy take is just one of those games that has “a colorful, pixel art style, (and is an) action-platformer that evokes the challenging classics of the genre. Embark on this epic adventure in which a little fox will fight the ominous darkness that is invading its world.” Darhûn has been released, and with a name like Darhûn you know that can’t be good. GO and defeat him, because you’re an adorable fox. I can’t be certain but that sounds like as good a plot as any.

Irony Curtain: From the Matryoshka with Love

Release: June 28th 2019

Adventure games in their traditional point and click sense are not as prevalent as they once were. Luckily in this silly adventure title, Irony Curtain: From Matryoshka With Love will “smuggle you out of your comfort zone and throw you into the middle of a Cold War spy intrigue, where there’s an even bigger game being played.” For me, personally, games like this have a special place in my heart. Wacky, plucky, silly games that unveil a broader arc of ridiculousness will always lead to a good time. That’s a fact.
