Back in July, Amazon Game Studios announced a collaboration with Leyou Technologies Holdings Limited and Middle-earth Enterprises to develop and publish a free-to-play the Lord of the Rings MMO game based on the books by J. R. R. Tolkien. The events of the game will be taking place hundreds of years before those of the trilogy. Besides the knowledge that the game will be developed both for PC and the consoles, there has not been much information about it.
Amazon Game Studios is currently looking for people to fill several jobs for the Lord of the Rings MMO, including Senior Game Artist, UX Designer and more.
Here is an interesting quote from the job description:
“We’re seeking an art style for our game that is “different at a glance” from the games and movies that have come before us. We need an artist with bravery and artistic skills to help us do something new.”

Personally I think Amazon Games studio is being unrealistic with what they think “new” is vs actually creating something new. Linking things to Twitch is the new angle, game wise I have yet to experience anything new.
Someone at the helm is being given information from old mind sets it seems but I hope this changes as Amazon has the budget to actually create an impact in gaming that’s memorable for good reasons, not bad.
