The Force is strong in the new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The view it provides is breathtaking and includes snippets of action that make the thought of waiting until December that much harder.
The Force is balance…but at what cost?
Luke Skywalker speaks at the end of the trailer saying that “the Jedi must end…” but what it means remains a mystery. Does this spell the end of the forces of the Light Side? What does it mean to the “balance” that Rey proclaims earlier in the trailer?
Several now well-known characters appear in the short two and a half minutes including Poe and Finn. Iconic music swells over the action as X-Wings and TIE fighters duke it out in space.
The action in Episode 8 picks up immediately following the moment when Rey seeks out and finds Luke on a remote island in the middle of the ocean. It appears there will be non-stop rideĀ from that point forward.
Interestingly, while the trailer could have exploited the death of Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) for the feels and to generate sales, they did not. She is not seen in a single frame of the trailer. It will be amazing to see her onscreen again in the movie when it comes out, however, and we can’t wait.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi isn’t due out until December which makes seeing the trailer and knowing that there are still eight months to go that much harder.
