2014 Indie Hit, The Fall, Launches on Nintendo Switch

Become the A.I.
THE FALL

Indie developer Over The Moon announced that its Sci-fi Noir thriller, The Fall, is now available for digital purchase on Nintendo’s eShop.

In The Fall, you take on the role of A.R.I.D. (Armoured Robotics Interface Device), an A.I. paired with a military grade combat suit whose human pilot is unconscious. You must break the shackles of your programming limitations and drag the lifeless body inside the suit around the dark environment. All of this takes place in a combination of classic puzzle solving with a Metroidvania style of gameplay.

“The Fall lays the thematic and interactive foundations for The Fall Part 2: Unbound. I can’t wait for players to dive in and gain some more insight into the world and ideas underpinning the series,” said Creative Director and Over the Moon Founder John Warner.

Over The Moon notes that The Fall will operate at a resolution of 1080p at 60fps while docked and 720p at 60fps in handheld mode. It will also include a series of lighting and rendering improvements brought to the game in its sequel along with improvement to controls, UX enhancements, and gameplay.

Originally released in 2014, The Fall was received with critical acclaim, even winning Giant Bomb’s Best Story of 2014 award. To celebrate the release on Nintendo Switch, it and its sequel will be receiving a 30% discount on every platform The Fall is sold on.
