We’ve recently seen the release of FIFA 22, and couldn’t be more excited. And if you’re reading this, you’re likely pretty thrilled yourself. Well, we’re here to shed light on a few of the features in FIFA 22 that we can’t wait to do – the new additions that will have you lining up around the block for the game (which, we are aware, most of you will simply purchase online, of course).
FIFA 2022 has had a fairly strong early reception, with hints it might be one of the best iterations of the popular soccer game in years. Tech Radar gave the game four out of five stars. While FourFourTwo refer to it as the most realistic version yet. But what are its most exciting components?
HyperMotion on PS5
The groundbreaking so-called HyperMotion technology in the PS5 is set to change everything about FIFA. They asked 22 professional soccer players to wear Xsens suits to capture their real motion, which is replicated in the gameplay. Combined with the tactical A.I. and the machine-learning algorithms, this is set to be the closest thing you can get to actually getting out on the pitch and representing your favorite team.
Europa Conference League
A new game, a new competition, and a new trophy to go for. And the Europa Conference League is a hipster FIFA player’s dream, allowing them to take charge of all sorts of also-rans and unknowns across Europe in their pursuit of glory. In the first season, you shouldn’t have too much difficulty navigating Spurs to the title. But perhaps a go with the likes of Union Berlin, Mura or the Lincoln Red Imps will satiate the thirst for the bohemian in you.
The Championship
Speaking of hipster players, the new FIFA has a deeper dive than ever into the lower leagues. The Championship is arguably the most fun and unpredictable league in England, with surprise leaders every year, and just a few points separating play-off hopefuls from relegation fodder. Granted the 2021/22 club campaign is still in its infancy. At this point though, the Championship betting odds on Ladbrokes indicate a very competitive league, which always makes for fun to play through. As of this writing, 14 Championship clubs have better than +700 odds to earn promotion. Compare that to only four teams with better than a +700 shot to win the Premier League, and you get a sense of which league is currently more competitive!
Pro Clubs
The Pro Clubs area allows you to play with several friends at once online. The 2022 iteration of FIFA allows you to make a squad with four friends or recent teammates before searching for a Drop-In match. Then, you take charge of one player in that team, while your friends take on the other roles in pursuit of glory. Since you only need to have a group of four to enter the game, the Fill Teammates option will then find other online players to work with you, so you’ll meet new friends online.
Career Mode
In FIFA 2022, you can now create your own team in Manager Career. This is absolutely huge, as many players have been asking for it for years. The game even allows you to choose the name, nickname, and league in which you’ll play. Just make sure to choose your biggest rivals carefully, as those games will be full of passion.
