Master of Orion

Master of Orion was one of the most influential video games in this era. This game was first released in 1993 and published by Microprose on two platforms – MS-DOS and Mac OS .

Master of Orion served up the ” 4× generation’ which we know of today. Players got to select a race that would either spell their empire’s expansion or destruction. In the vast space ocean, you as a player are not alone since you have to race against other players.

Currently, the most popular series is the Master of Orion II: Battle At Antares. 

Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog was first released in the 90s on the Sega Mega Drive. The game gained its popularity because of its simple concept.

All you had to was to run and jump really fast as a hedgehog on a scrolling landscape. You also had to attempt and collect sole Chaos Emeralds while still trying to save critters which Doctor Robotnik had turned into robots.

Unfortunately, the worst part of the game was when you lost all your lives and could not save the game. You had to start all over again. 

Warcraft

Warcraft was designed by Blizzard who continued to design Warcraft III and World of Warcraft. It is a blend of five core games; the first three were strategy games.

Warcraft tells a story of the war between the Humans and the Orcs. Although it was not the first game to offer multiplayer it was the first to adopt RTS titles. This facilitated the RTS competition in the 90s.

Star Wars: Dark Forces.

Star Wars: Dark Forces was a first shooter game published by LucasArts in 1995. The game covers the story of Kyle who steals the Death Star plans to bring down the Empires Dark Trooper Project.

Need for Speed

Need for Speed was developed by Ghost Games and later published by Electronic Arts in 1994.  It was an action driven fantasy which saw Tobey Marshall set off across the cross country to avenge his friend’s death. 

Final Fantasy VII

This was the seventh edition of the Fantasy VII series which was rolled out in 1997. The game was developed by Square and it was played on Console.

The storyline is in-depth that led up to a movie.  Playing as an ex-member of the corrupt corporation Shinra, you join the rebel group to bring down Shinra. 

Roadrash

The bike racing game of the 1990’s, we are sure you have tried your hands out on this one. The moves that you could make with the bikers, and the different streets to race on was an experience in itself back in those days.
