Huge news for fans of Aloy, a Genshin Impact x Horizon Zero Dawn crossover is set to hit the huge online RPG.
The team behind Genshin Impact, Mihoyo, has managed to hype up some seriously big crossovers of late. The recent collaboration between Honkai Impact 3rd and Neon Genesis Evangelion got fans of both anime-inspired adventures excited but now Travellers in Genshin Impact are about the get a Horizon Zero Dawn collaboration that will introduce Aloy as a playable character. That’s right, the slayer of all things mechanical and main protagonist of Horizon Zero Dawn is set to head out into the wilderness and you won’t even need to raid your Primoogem stash to roll Aloy.
Players logged into the PlayStation version of Genshin Impact will receive Aloy first. In this first phase, anybody who logs in after the Version 2.1 update / at the start of Version 2.2 update on 13 October will get Aloy via an in-game mail. No gacha, no fuss. Everybody else playing on alternate platforms just has to log in on 24 November, after the Version 2.2 update / start of Version 2.3 update to receive Aloy.
Aloy will stride out into Genshin Impact with her box in hand. The Nora hunter will wield cryo skills, including something called Nora Fortis. We haven’t been given a full breakdown of all her abilities quite yet but the introduction of Aloy, as detailed on the Genshin Impact Facebook page can be found below.
An outcast since birth, Aloy grew up in a harsh mountain wilderness near the tribe that shunned her. Fostered by an expert hunter, she trained to hunt with cat-like grace and deadly accuracy – but the things she most wanted to learn, he could not teach her. Most of all, she burned to know the circumstances of her birth – who her parents were, and why she was shunned by the tribe.
Her quest for answers swept her into a wider and more dangerous world than she ever could have imagined. She encountered strange and powerful new tribes, ancient ruins rife with mysteries, and dangerous enemies, both human and machine.
Eventually, she learned that her origins and destiny were deeply tied to the fate of the world itself, and fought an epic battle to save it against the evil forces of an artificial intelligence from the ancient past.
She thought that this would be the end of her journey. But there is always more to an adventurer’s tale. She has now come to Teyvat in search of a new challenges.
In this brave new world, Aloy is ready for the hunt!
