If this time of year has you reaching for a hot cup of generic lemon flu liquid, then spare a moment for the protagonists of upcoming adventure game Plague Tale: Innocence. Just to remind you how lucky you have it, Asobo Studi has released a host of gorgeous new screenshots for this title.

Set in medieval France, A Plague Tale: Innocence puts players in the shoes of Amicia and Hugo De Rune, two lost children trying to survive a harsh world, utterly ravaged by the black death. The two siblings find themselves on the run, wanted by the Inquisition and surrounded by swarms of disease-ridden rats. As chaos, disease, and upheaval tear France apart, this brother and sister must face a multitude of challenges. This is not your normal sandbox survival adventure. Players will explore the world, and the two protagonist’s relationship as Amicia’s determination to save her little brother shines through.

The brutality of this world is in stark contrast to the gorgeous new screenshots. Crafted by Asobo Studio’s very own engine, the world of A Plague Tale: Innocence is filled with a range of backdrops. Medieval castles and villages, catacombs, wasteland battlefields, and verdant forests are just some of the areas of medieval France explored by this adventure and they all have a distinct look and feel. You can check out the gallery above, but suffice to say that A Plague Tale: Innocence looks like ti will be just as beautiful as it is disturbing.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019. If you want to keep up to date with this historical adventure, check out the official website for more information
