A Platinum Edition of SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays Is Coming

Get ready Gundam pilots. It appears that fans of the big robot battling anime series are getting a new Platinum Edition of SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays on the Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4.

Announced by Bandai Namco, and due to arrive on the Nintendo Switch in japan come 25 March, the new package of Gundam adventure is a compilation of previously released Gundam adventures all bundled up into one package for the Nintendo handheld device and PlayStation owners. This includes the base game, Dispatch Mission Set 1, Dispatch Mission Set 2, Dispatch Mission Set 3, Dispatch Mission Set 4, Expansion Pack, Season Pass, and all the free downloadable content that has been released since launch.

Alongside the initial detail, Bandai Namco dropped an announcement trailer showcasing the latest entry in this Gundam style tactical RPG series. It brings four eras of Gundam action together on one game, asking players to form their own team made up of units from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, SEED, 00, and Iron-Blooded Orphans. While this is nothing new for fans that have played the game, the new edition looks set to provide some decent value for anybody trying out the newest instalment in the series for the first time.

Unfortunately, just like the base game, it doesn’t mean that you can expect to see a western release of SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays Platinum Edition on Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4 anytime soon. The game was only released in Japan, although it did get English language support and Pc players got it globally on Steam. This means that the Platinum Edition is likely to remain similarly supported if unavailable on console platforms in the western market. The original 2019 release of is, however, heavily discounted for PC players over on Steam right now.
