Digital Extremes has released the Warframe: 1999 digital comic as a prequel to the next major expansion for this sci-fi adventure.

After a teaser demo during October, Digital Extremes has unveiled a new piece of prerelease content for its latest Warframe expansion. The previously announced Warframe: 1999 digital comic is now available. Tenno who aren’t too busy cutting down the latest threat to the system can take a break and get to know the team they’ll accompany back to 1999 and follow a crew of misfits caught up in a narrative bigger than any one of them.

The new digital prerelease content follows the plight of the same six portograms fans have already seen across promo material. The faces you’ll fight besides, and maybe flirt with, are the victims of some heinous experiments by the enigmatic scientist, Albrecht Entrati. Across a 33-page webcomic, you’ll see them band together, in a race against time, to hunt down the one responsible for their recent transgressions. This newfound family will be your only backup when Warframe: 1999 drops soon, so get to know them well. Find the required reading at the official website, Tapas Canvas, Imgur, and Webtoon for free.

To celebrate the soon to be iconic operators, Digital Extremes has also unlocked new decorations for the in-game landing crafts, based on the comic. These are free and on the Warframe marketplace.
