Putting us in the paws of Dawn, a sceptical shelter cat, Copycat takes a heart-warming story and then proceeds to tear at the heartstrings. After settling down with new owner Olive, a lonely older Aussie with her own sense of loss, Dawn gives up ideas of running away to the wild. Things change after Olive falls ill and a stranger steals Dawn’s place, forcing the kitty out on the street. Colorful visuals and a wonderful voice cast are mixed with the dark emotional depths of the human condition.
Will you find your way home and reunite with olive or were you the copycat all along. At three hours, this isn’t a long game, but I think it’s probably going to be about all I can take to get through it.
