Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition beta to begin in February

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition

Xbox Insiders will have a chance to try out Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition starting in February according to a new post on the official site. Players will need to be sure to sign up for the Insiders program and tick the right boxes to ensure they are set for inclusion in the pool of possible testers but that’s about it.

Developers will be inviting a limited number of testers for the initial events that will spotlight multiplayer, matchmaking, and “the way the game feels when you play with others”. The first players chosen will be selected from those who are “fans of the original Age III” but more players will be added to the roster throughout March.

While the initial focus for beta testing will be on multiplayer, developers have plans to offer opportunities for the community to provide feedback about the game’s campaign. “To ensure our developers get the feedback they need, we will limit the campaign beta sessions to a very small group of players and only certain missions,” the letter reads.
