Age of Wonders 3

Age Of Wonders 3 has just gone free on Steam. If you haven’t tried this 4x Strategy yet, now is the perfect time to get into the game and build an empire.

Before the New Frontier

In anticipation of the upcoming Age of Wonders: Planetfall, Age of Wonders is going free on Steam, but only for a limited time. Between now and 15 July, players can pick up this impressive looking strategy title for absolutely no money down. If you’ve never heard of Age of Wonders, this franchise kicked off way back in 1999 with the original Age of Wonders game. Age of Wonders 3 is the fourth in the franchise and this 4x turn-based strategy challenges players to rule as one of 6 RPG style leader classes. Taking on the mantle of a  Sorcerer, Theocrat, Rogue, Warlord, Archdruid, or the tech-focused Dreadnought players can use the game’s many mechanics to explore a massive fantasy world and expand their influence.

Switching between top-down views and more personal third-person camera, players can coordinate massive battles, featuring legendary heroes. All the obvious additions, troop progression, and tactical management are present, with an epic single player campaign on top of several play modes.

The announcement of this free loot comes ahead of the release of Age of Wonders: Planetfall across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on August 6, 2019. The latest edition of the Age of Wonders franchise will take commanders beyond the human sphere and off into space. The new title will challenge players to emerge from a cosmic dark age to forge a new future for your people. It features some awesome art, the same great strategy that makes Age of Wonders so epic, and an obvious evolution of the franchise’s combat mechanics.

With a very positive response over on Steam, you’re making your first tactical misstep if you didn’t pick this up, in our opinion. Whether you are waiting on the new Planetfall title or just interested in why this game is so highly regarded, you can pick Age of Wonder 3 up on the official Steam Store page now.
