NBA 2K21

NBA 2K21 is coming to PC, current and next-gen consoles later this year, and it is time to learn who will be on the game’s cover! If we didn’t tell you, what would you say? Before you think of a name, here is a hint. NBA 2K21 will come in four different editions, and the covers will feature two active players and one legend. Think of a name, and see if you guessed right below. And if you did, you might try your luck in online gaming at

NBA 2K21 Mamba Forever Edition

The next edition of the most famous NBA video game will have a special Mamba Forever Edition featuring Kobe Bryant. The 2K company decided to honor the basketball legend who recently passed away in a helicopter crash.

Mamba Forever will come in separate editions for the current and the next-gen consoles. The version released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will feature Bryant wearing the No. 8 jersey and heading for a dunk.

We know that Kobe switched the number on his jersey in the middle of his career. That was because No. 24 was taken when he joined the Lakers. However, Bryant later switched to the number he was wearing during his early basketball days.

The next-gen edition features Kobe waving to the crowd – he looks like he is leaving the court. That sounds symbolic and adds value to this cover. This version will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

The Mamba Forever Edition will include various benefits, such as:

  • Special Kobe Bryant items – Black Mamba uniform for MyPlayer, three jerseys, five shoes, and a Sapphire My Team Card.
  • 60 skill boosts for MyCareer
  • 10 MyTeam Tokens
  • 10,000 Points for MyTeam and 100,000 Currency

The same items will be included in versions for both next and current-gen consoles.

NBA 2K21 Standard Edition

The basic edition of NBA 2K21 will have two different covers. The one for PS4 and Xbox One will feature Damian Lillard on the cover. The explosive point guard currently playing for Blazers is in the white jersey, and there is another photo in the background.

This version will come with a digital collection related to Damian Lillard, but also extra MyTeam Points, currency, shoes, and skill boost.

As for the next-gen cover, it is only reasonable that the NBA 2K21 Standard Edition will feature a future star. It doesn’t come as surprising that the developers decided for Zion Williamson, the power forward who currently performs for New Orleans Pelicans.

Williamson was the first pick of the draft, and we only expect him to show his best skills on the court during the coming years. The cover comes with various incentives, including promo packs, skill boosts, and a specialized Zion digital collection.

What Is the Price of NBA 2K21?

The cost will depend on the edition, which is also expected.

Here is the exact table:

  • Standard Edition – $59.99;
  • Next-Gen Standard – $69.99;
  • Mamba Forever – $99.99 in both versions;

As you can see, there is a significant difference in prices, but the developers compensate that with generous packs of extra items.

When Can We Play NBA 2K21?

The official release date is September 4, 2020. That means we can expect the game long before the actual season begins, especially since there will be a delay caused by the coronavirus. We can only hope that it won’t affect the release date of the game. Please note that the next-gen versions might be available later because we first need to see the release of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

At this moment, it is possible to pre-order the game. You will get some bonus items if you place the order early. This franchise has been dominating the market for years, and that will probably be the case for years to come. That is why we can be confident that the game will meet expectations once again.
