Amazon has revealed the upcoming plans for its recently reworked MMORPG with a New World: Aeternum Living Roadmap.
Amazon’s big budget MMO just released its first post-launch Dev Update, detailing what’s about to wash up on Aeternum’s shores. Detailed in a brand new blog post, the Living Roadmap is an ongoing update that is aimed at giving players transparency about efforts behind the scene. It highlights the major milestones that developers are working towards, a more detailed dive into what’s coming near term, and a look at ideas that might be worth exploring in the long road ahead.
Indications appear to suggest that this plan is more fluid than a simple set of targets. Split into three distinct sections, the update begins with a look at Season 7 of new World. While the Aeternum relaunch only occurred lately, New World has been steadily exploring a lost island for some time already. Season 7 will expand that adventure with a ton of added content, a new map, PvP, upgrades, new trials, and more. The best way to cover the update is to sit down with devs Scot, Dave V, Katy, Dan, and watch what’ s coming.
I’m personally most intrigued by the Seasonal Worlds. are dynamic, limited-time servers designed to deliver unique gameplay experiences. The first of which features always-on PVP, special loot that drops on death, and unique items. Rewards and progression will carry over after the season ends, ensuring their efforts are never lost. If one of the server’s isn’t named Crowfall, I’d be surprised.
The rest of the blog is split into the In development, mid term, and In Exploration . Ongoing development includes new game modes, more Seasonal Servers, crafting, quality of life fixes, endgame systems, Invasions, and a ton more headline wants for the community.
In Exploration is all about big content updates, ideas that will shape the game longer term, and where developer resources might get placed. Amazon explain this might mean anything from a new weapon to a new zone, or a completely new trade skill.
