AnimeJapan 2022 Goes Online For Estranged Otaku

AnimeJapan 2022 kicks off any minute now and Otaku that miss the atmosphere of a Japanese convention can grab a seat online.

AnimeJapan 2022,  the first AnimeJapan event to occur in Tokyo since 2019 lockdown restrictions arrived, has opened its doors to online attendees. Due to kick off on Saturday, Tokyo time, and featuring a plethora of well known anime studios, this two day event marks something of a return to normality for anime fans and a teaser of what the reset of the world can see, whenever the borders reopen to travel.

The event itself is set to feature almost 40 stages online and in person. Fans of everything from Ruby to JoJo, and more will mix with games enthusiasts turned victims of the gacha grind, or Fate / Grand Order players as we know them. Remote players and Digimon aficionados will be able to watch the action as it unfolds live, with the full schedule available over on the official website. Highlights of the on stage activities include an announcement by Team Ruby, as well as voice actors from huge hits like appearances by voice actors from Kimetsu no Yaiba, Attack on Titan, and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Viewers in USA, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Thailand, Korea, UK, Germany, Mexico, and Brazil can expect to tune in but do be aware you’ll need a ticket. Much like th Blizzcon experience, attendees will need to grab an online ticket to find out what’s going to make its way to Crunchyroll next season, and did we mention you might need to brush up on your Japanese. Tickets will cost 2.300 Yen per day, and that doesn’t include closed captions. Still, if you’re eager to catch a glimpse of what’s going on then you’ve got probably a few hours to grab google translate and get to a computer. Find out more about this convention over at the official website or the international social feed now.
