The latest title of Bioware, looter/shooter Anthem faced a rocky launch and many players and journalists alike had wondered if the company is going to cut its losses, abandon the game and move on. In February 2020, the company announced that Anthem will be “reimagined” to provide a more satisfying loot experience, better long-term progression, and a more fulfilling end-game.
After the announcement, the team went silent with new details about the so-called Next or 2.0 version few and far in between. However, it might be possible that we’ll be hearing something very soon.
According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, Anthem’s fate will be decided this week at a meeting held by Electronic Arts. The publisher will determine whether it will be continuing to try and turn the tide on Anthem with its retooled version.
NEWS: For the last year and a half, BioWare has been in “incubation” mode overhauling the maligned online game Anthem.
This week, EA will review the progress of “Anthem Next” and decide whether to expand the team or put an end to the project. https://t.co/eQmTq2oEjZ
