Respawn Entertainment has reported banning over 350,000 cheaters in its Battle Royale Apex Legends since the game has launched last month. The company cares has further plans in the fight against unfair players.
As of today we’ve banned over 355K players on PC through Easy-Anti-Cheat. The service works but the fight against cheaters is an ongoing war that we’ll need to continue to adapt to and be very vigilant about fighting. We take cheating very seriously and care deeply about the health of Apex Legends for all players.
Additionally, the Reddit thread notes that the developers are aware of the spammers during character select, game crashes. and slow server performance at the start of matches.
The team is not pursuing the reconnect feature for a couple of reasons such as opening a lot of risks for players to abuse it and using the resources needed to build, test and release it on fixing the stability issues.
Following the March 6 update, players have dug into the files of the game and found some interesting bits of information and rumors. To this end, dataminers have unearthed two new weapons – flamethrower and remote turret – and mentions of a “night mode”. There are also mentions of NPCs.
RealApexLeaks on Twitter found a reference to wallrunning and superjumping. Could those new features be coming into the game? That would change the gameplay drastically and open a lot of verticality for the players. Or it could be leftovers in the game’s code.
