Today’s a big day for couch co-op and on-the-go players with the launch of Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch. EA and Respawn have announced the battle royale game’s arrival on Switch starting today that comes complete with the Chao Theory in-game event. The Switch version will be cross-play compatible with players on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The Switch version of AL was developed in collaboration with Panic Button and provides players with a number of platform-exclusive features including:
- target performance of 30fps
- 720p resolution when docked
- 576p resolution in handheld mode
- gyroscope aiming with controllers
- dedicated live service support
- simultaneous content updates with other platforms
- limited-time modes
- in-game events
- a Legendary Pathfinder skin
- 30 free levels of the Season 8 Battle Pass
- double XP during the first two weeks
“It’s been two years since we launched Apex Legends and we have continued to push the genre forward in meaningful and innovative ways season-to-season with new Legends, maps, weapons, unique modes, and much more,” said Chad Grenier, Game Director, Respawn. “We’re also continuing to bring the game to more players on new platforms and with the Nintendo Switch launch, being able to drop in during the current season is a huge win for us.
