The cartoon spin-off, inspired by the long standing survival sim, originally dropped its first trailer back in 2020, with various updates teased out over the last few years. The first six episodes are now playing and represent the best way to experience the tale of 21st century palaeontologist Helena Walker (Madden). When she finds herself resurrected on a mysterious primeval island populated by prehistoric beasts, she must learn to survive with new allies from throughout time, while trying to uncover the true nature of their strange new world.

Hey Bob

The release comes hot on the heels of the recent Bob’s Tall Tales in game update, featuring another animated addition to this franchise. the ARK: Survival Ascended “Dear Jane” event has received an extra-special update: Now when survivors equip the Animated Series “Bob” costume, they’ll hear Bob’s voice (Karl Urban) reacting to gameplay actions and delivering witty quips when using emotes! The Dear Jane addition focuses on slang term turned legendary character Bob, and includes a series of notes that references the animated series. This update unlocks 4 of the 28 available in-game animated costumes, including Helena, Bob, Dodo and Scary the Parasaur, among other characters from the show.

Ark: The animated series might not seem to have quite the same hype as Arcane, Blood Dragon, or the upcoming Tomb Raider animated show, but it’s likely an easier entry to the franchise than jumping in to be eaten by a hangry tyrannosaurus. You can check out the recent Scorched Earth updates on the official website or watch Ark: The Animated Series on Paramount+ now.
