ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition is available right now across iOS and Android platforms.
Prehistoric survival sim Ark is on mobiles, and the small screen incarnation of this adventure is available now, and for free. Grove Street Games and publisher Snail Games, in partnership with Studio Wildcard have shrunk the massive world of Ark down into a handheld escapade, that includes the base game and tons of additional content. Alongside the full-scale ARK: Survival Evolved experience found on PC’s and consoles, pocket players will find the ARK Expansion Packs – Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Genesis Parts 1 & 2 the fan-favorite Ragnarok community-created map and more in this on the go outing. While todays launched only includes the original ARK Island Map, Scorched Earth and Aberration expansion maps, the remaining content will arrive before the end of 2025.
Over 150 creatures are featured in the title that crams the odd Carnotaurus into the morning commute. Across the Ark Island map, new and old players will find themselves stranded naked, freezing and starving on a huge map full of danger. Hunt, harvest, craft items, grow crops, and build shelters to survive the elements and the fangs of vicious predators. The included add on packs expand the world beyond the original swamps and savannah into six unique, desert themed biomes, underground caverns and new environments featuring extreme radioactive sunlight, environmental hazards, ziplines, wingsuits, climbing gear, cave dwellings, and other exotic ideas. Tons of ways to play and secrets await.
Pay Up
Of course, this free to play experience includes monetization. While I haven’t seen any indication of gacha, you’ll be able to buy a monthly sub, so more like Runescape mobile. Available at $4.99/monthly or $49.99 annual subscription, the Ark Pass unlocks every current and future Expansion Pack and monthly bonuses, including:
- God Console – console commands in single player
- Bonus XP in all game modes
- Monthly drops of free ‘Keys’ – ARK’s in-game currency
- Exclusive access to servers
I might not have fond memories of the tiny little pocket raptors in Guild Wars 2, but ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition now gives survival fans a way to return to ARK without having to find a big screen. Check out more on the new release on the official website now.
