Art Nouveau Inspired Strategy Songs of Silence Begins Early Access

Chimera Entertainment just kicked off a stunning new quest as Songs of Silence enters Early Access today.

A graceful mix of gorgeous artwork, masterful music, and compelling strategy come together to bring a new fantasy campaign to Early Access today. Available now, over on Steam, for around €39,99/£33/$39,99, this lavish mix of fast-paced battles and inventive strategy is all wrapped up in the finery of  Belle Epoque Art Nouveau aesthetics.

What sounds like an odd mix of ideas almost draws on memories of Banner Saga, when we caught the trailer. This time, however, players getting in ahead of the full launch will find a classic 4x turned auto battler at the core of this title. Players are challenged to lead powerful armies conscripted from a roster of over 100 units. Trudge across a wonderfully illustrated top-down environment that plays host to single-player campaigns and custom multiplayer maps. Thwart your enemies by using the terrain and tactics to trick them, or use unyielding force to knock down the front door. However you choose to wield the huge variety of troops is up to you.

Enhancing each skirmish, commanders, and kings must set formations, pick their orders, and pick from a range of faction-orientated options that even include card decks, just to keep things interesting. The wonderful visuals are accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto, the famous artist behind all-time favorites such as Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy 12, and Valkyria Chronicles.

Standing out among a myriad of ideas over on the early Access roadmap, Songs of Silence certainly has our attention. You can check out more about the Early Access launch, its upcoming roadmap to launch, and more on the official Steam Store page now.
