Since its launch, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla received three major DLCs (Siege of Paris, Wrath of the Druids & Dawn of Ragnarok), a heap of updates, new features and new game modes as well as a surprise visitor joining Eivor to fight a mysterious curse in Crossover Stories. Now, for the first time in the franchise, the developers are offering a second year of free post-launch content. It includes Festivals, Armory update, Mastery Challenge Pack 2, New Tombs.
This summer the team will also offer a new take on the Assassin’s Creed gameplay via a new rogue-lite inspired game mode The Forgotten Saga which will be free for all AC: Valhalla players. Stay tuned until the end of this year for one last surprise: the developers will reveal the last episode of Eivor’s story as a free chapter for all players.
Ubisoft also announced the release of the standalone version of Discovery Tour: Viking for Xbox and PlayStation consoles as well as Stadia and Luna streaming platforms. The studio partnered with McGill University in Canada to develop curriculum guides for teachers and students available online for free to help them make the most of Discovery Tours (Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece and Viking Age).
AC: Origins received an update as well. Now you can experience Ancient Egypt in 60 fps on Xbox and PlayStation next-gen consoles. There is also a free weekend for Origins running between June 16 and June 20.
The anniversary site also invites players to participate in 12 trials – proving their knowledge of the Creed for a chance to win a range of AC prizes. Each week Ubisoft will be offering a quiz that allows players to test their knowledge and increase their score. The higher the score, the more chances to win. This week the quiz focuses on Eivor’s adventures – you can find it here.
