Well, so begins the leaking of E3 content. A month early this time! First, WWG reported the leaked name – Assassin’s Creed Origins. Now an anonymous Reddit user has posted the first off-monitor screenshot of the game. It gives us a decent-if-fuzzy view of the ancient Egypt setting, and a small boat you’re apparently able to captain. It’ll also revolve around a man and a woman lead character once again.
If the rumors are to be believed (I’d say they are), Assassin’s Creed Origins takes us back to ancient Egypt, and is the largest AC game to date, placing a certain emphasis on exploration based gameplay over a singular narrative thread. It’s also bringing back controllable boats, and could let players travel as far as Greece during the campaign. Presumably, it also tells players how the order truly began.
Origins is expected to be revealed at E3 2017 and is set to launch this fall on all major consoles. Does that include the Switch? We’re doubting it, but never say never.
