Asus is due to unleash the new Strix XG43UQ gaming monitor and it’s HDMI 2.1 support during May 2021.

The new Asus Strix XG43UQ gaming monitor is set to land in stores this May, according to an announcement by Asus this morning, and its notable as this display looks set to be something of a standard bearer for the top end of the PC gaming market. Anybody looking to get on the bleeding edge of monitor tech can expect the Asus Strix XG43UQ to pack in a ton of features and, we’re hoping, some exceptional performance for all your daily drives to off world discoveries.

Features

Whether you’re taking a look around the new worlds of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey or just watching a movie, the 43‑inch 4K panel of this new display provides a massive base to build on. Asus is quick to point out that this is the world’s first DMI 2.1 gaming monitor, and this provides an impressive 4K at 120Hz across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X devices. PC gamers can, of course, push past this with the right hardware, reaching 4K 144 Hz via DisplayPort 1.4, while the impressive looking panel features AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) Sync technology to keep things as smooth as possible.

With a maximum display brightness of 1000 nits, DisplayHDR 1000 certification, professional-grade 90% DCI‑P3 color gamut, a ton of connectivity, and some very traditional Asus Republic of Gamers styling you can expect the Strix XG43UQ gaming monitor to come in at the top end of the monitor market, but this is the type of monitor you will not be looking to replace any time soon. The Strix XG43UQ gaming monitor might not be able to match the ridiculous 360 Hz refresh rate of the ROG Swift but you’re not likely to find a more impressive 4K display either. Check out more on the official Asus website and head over to your regular online retailer for a closer look at pricing.
