Avowed Delayed to February 2025 to "Give Players' Backlogs Breathing Room"

Xbox and Phil Spencer have announced that Obsidian Entertainment’s Avowed has been delayed until February 18, 2025. According to the recent Xitter post, the move has been made “to give players’ backlogs some breathing room.”

Xbox boss Phil Spencer rode in a bit later to say, “We’re proud of what the Obsidian team have accomplished with Avowed and want to make sure they have the best launch possible. We look forward to you enjoying it along with the rest of our lineup of games and updates coming this year and beyond.”

The good news is that developers will still be on hand during this month’s Gamescom 2024 to showcase the game. This should provide fans and players disappointed by the “breathing room” delay a chance to see the game in action and to give it a try for themselves.
