During Gamescom 2018 the developers from Bandai Namco Entertainment have been on hand with a variety of news for the upcoming fighting Soulcalibur VI. The team has also introduced a new character that is going to join the roster of the game: Azwel, Leader of Humanity, who wields the powerful weapon Palidrome that grants him an ability to summon weapons out of thin air. His fighting style is described as a practical application of martial philosophy and theory.
It is too early to tell yet, but fans already believe that Azwel might be the main antagonist of the upcoming game.
In other Soulcalibur VI news, many fans were surprised and not a little disappointed upon learning that veteran character of the series, Tira, will be a part of a DLC instead of the main game. The game’s producer Motohiro Okubo explained the reasoning behind this decision in an interview with player Kayane:
“About Tira, having her in [SoulCalibur VI] needed some pretty complicated adjustments, so much so that she nearly didn’t make the cut. After we had announced SoulCalibur VI, a lot of fans asked for Tira, so I went to see the development team and asked them to put her in the game, so that’s why she isn’t in the main roster and is DLC.“
