Back For Blood Fails To Paint The UK Video Games Charts Red

The UK Video Games Charts are out and it looks like Warner Brothers Back For blood hasn’t quite decapitated the competition in UK sales.

The latest retail sales from British shores are in and the latest shooter from the L4D devs might not be flying off the shelves. The online multiplayer first person shooter game from Turtle Rock Studios debuted at number 4 in the GfK UK Chart list, missing out on the top spot to some of the more regular features on the chart listing.

Sat atop the chart are FIFA 22, Fary Cry 6, and Metroid Dread, none of which have slipped from their positions last week. The remaining entries on the chart this week include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Minecraft, Animal Crossing, Super Mario, and Grand Theft Auto, all of which are likely to see a steady stream of sales every time we rush to grab a new PS5 or Xbox too. One unexpected addition is Marvel’s Spider-Man: Mile Morales which swings all the way from last week’s number 14, to number 6 in the UK charts

1 – FIFA 22
2 – FAR CRY 6
3 – METROID DREAD
4 – BACK 4 BLOOD
5 – MARIO KART 8 DELUXE
6 – MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN: MILES MORALES
7 – MINECRAFT
8 – ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS
9 – SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD + BOWSER’S FURY
10 – GRAND THEFT AUTO V

While Back 4 Blood might seem to have fallen a little short, at number 4 on this small island, the numbers don’t quite do the launch of this title justice. On Steam alone the nearest we’re ever going to see to a Left 4 Dead 3 release has managed concurrent player numbers just shy of 40,000. That’s higher than the first Left 4 Dead and not far away from the sequel, which was given away for free some years ago. If you want to help out this online zombie shooter make a mess of next week’s charts, Back 4 blood is out now on Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PC, and Game Pass.
