Revealed by Larian Studios last week, the latest Panel from Hell is almost upon us, bringing along exciting announcements about Baldur’s Gate 3 and its incoming Patch 8. According to the latest post from Larian on Steam, Patch 8 is almost ready for primetime and is going to be roughly 40 GB, making the total install size for BG3 to be approximately 104 GB.
As always, the saves made on Patch 7 or prior will no longer be compatible once Patch 8 drops! The team has also revealed that it will be using the latest patch as an opportunity for a bit of digital house-cleaning: once it’s live, only Patches 6 and7 will remain available for download. However, the team encourages all players to update to the most recent version of the game in order to get the latest fixes and content updates.
If you have any mods installed, or were using any in previous versions of Baldur’s Gate 3, please remove them before updating your game. If you decide to use branches to stay on the version of a previous patch, check out the Steam post for a quick how-to.
Mark your calendars: the latest Panel from Hell will take place on July 7! Tune in around 10 AM Pacific to learn what’s coming in Patch 8. What wonders will we see? The Bard class? Or maybe the Paladin? Both? Neither? Stay tuned to find out!
