The release of Baldur’s Gate 3 is almost upon us! Before it’s the time to visit Faerun, there are a few things players should know. The developers have promised to share a full guide for launch but even so eagle-eyed Reddit users have noticed some interesting info.
First, there will be no Steam pre-load for Baldur’s Gate 3. Larian explained that swithing to pre-load would break the game for people currently playing Early Access. Second, there might be conflicts between the saved games, mods and installed files of the Early Access version and the full version of the game. The suggestion is to get rid of it all in preparation for the full release.
“Full post tomorrow, but for Baldur’s Gate 3 players with existing Early Access saves, we ask that prior to August 3, launch the game, and delete all save files to avoid unintended conflicts at launch. Also, remove any mods and ensure they do not automatically re-download. We recommend players with Early Access installed uninstall the game after deleting their save files. This will reduce the risk of file conflicts when the final game downloads, and should mean more playing, and no troubleshooting!”
Just yesterday Baldur’s Gate 3 received Community Update 22, the last one before the launch. In it, the developers have further explained the gameplay aspects of being afflicted with Mindflayer tadpole. Additionally, Larian addressed respecs, romances, PC system requirements for 4K/Ultrawide and more.
Last but not least, the devs have announced Twitch Drops for the game. Starting August 3rd, 2023, at 9am PDT/4pm UTC and ending August 17th, 2023, at 9am PDT/4pm UTC, when you watch two hours of Baldur’s Gate 3 on Twitch, you’ll earn the Camp Clothing Set. This regal set of Twitch-purple finery is sure to smell better than the breeches you pulled off that dead goblin.
