The hype for CD Projekt Red’s brand new RPG was palpable at this year’s convention circuit. Journalists laid siege to the Cyberpunk 2077 booths and the public clamored for a glimpse of this anticipated title. Now, Bandai Namco has brought us a step closer to Night City with the news that they will publish Cyberpunk 2077 across Europe.
The European arm of Bandai, that has been lately been busily bringing anime heroes to life, is about to whisk many of us off to Night City. While CD Projekt Red has a well established digital distribution platform of their very own, in GOG.com, this is not the first time that CD Projekt Red and Bandai Namco have worked together. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt were both released by Bandai.
My fellow European citizens in Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Malta, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom should find that this announcement secures a seamless release for Cyberpunk 2077. Bandai Namco Europe also had a few words to say as they released the news of this deal, with the following statement.
CD Projekt RED has become, in just a few years, one of the leading studios in this sector with a truly innovative approach to each game and we are both proud and excited to confirm that we’ll be part of the Cyberpunk 2077 project,” said Alberto González Lorca, VP Southern Europe & Biz Dev of BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe. “We’re looking forward to working once again with CD PROJEKT RED and distribute another of its games in Europe, providing first-class services to one of the most eagerly awaited games of the coming years.
If you’ve been unfortunate enough to miss CD Projekt Red’s marketing campaign for their upcoming RPG then you probably don’t use the internet. This hotly tipped adventure is a narrative-driven RPG set in a massive neon metropolis of the future. With the biggest open world I’ve ever seen in a game, tech-savvy netrunners, massive megacorps, and a seedy underworld full of net hackers, Cyberpunk 2077 looks like it will be one of the biggest games of the year when it hits. You can find out more about the game over at the official website.
