Bard’s Tale IV studio VP Chris Keenan has couple new powerhouse tales of his own to tell. Chris sent out an update blast to Kickstarter backers that the highly anticipated Alpha Test is here and a final release title name has been decided upon.
Alpha Test is Here!
Kickstarter backers with Alpha rewards access will be the first backers to get some hands-on time with the game. The twenty-minute demo will showcase systems from previous blog posts and updates. Backers will get to try out:
- Puzzles and traps
- Puzzle weapons
- Songs of Exploration
- Some undisclosed systems
- A special and often asked about Easter egg
InXile will be showcasing the Alpha Test demo at the upcoming Game Developers Conference, March 21 – 23. They promise press coverage and lots of demo time so keep your eye out for more sneak peeks at that time.
The final release title name has been decided and it’s The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep. According to Keenan they tossed around a few working titles, “The Destiny Knight and Thief of Fate described important story hooks for those games, but for the return of The Bard’s Tale after so many years, we wanted a name that captured the essence of a dungeon crawler.”
If you missed out on the Kickstarter and wish you had access to this alpha demo, don’t worry. InXile will be providing details next week on how you can get in on the Alpha Test action.
