Battlefield 2042 Nordvik event

EA and Dice have announced that Battlefield 2042 players will be able to take part in an all-new in-game event starting December 20th. Called Battle of Nordvik, players will have three weeks of time-limited and unique experiences available each week.

From a story perspective, developers had this to say, “When Nordvik’s secret alliance with the West is revealed, Eastern Forces retaliate with an aggressive siege of this remote facility in the Swedish wilderness. Join the Nordvik Control Corps or the Black Storm regiment in the three-week power struggle that marks a turning point in the global conflict between two superpowers.”

Each week, players will find different challenges to overcome. Week 1 runs from December 20-27th. Players aligned with the Black Storm regiment will begin the assault on Nordvik while the Eastern militia tries to seize more territory around Nordvik. This is a Conquest Assault type of experience with 32v32 taking on the battle. Defenders will start with control of all objectives.

Week 2 runs from December 27th to January 3rd and is the Defense of Nordvik. This is Retribution-style gameplay. This is a 16×16 twist on Conquest that combines it with Breakthrough and Rush. Attackers will fight their way towards the frontlines while taking objectives along the way. “Teamplay is the key to victory.” Defenders, of course, will be trying to stop the mad dash to place M-COMS.

Week 3 is the Liberation of Nordvik and runs from January 3-10. This is the final battle of the event. Full-on Breakthrough Chaos will decide the conflict. Gameplay is scaled up to new intensity and supports up to 128* players. Fight your way across the Battlefield as a tight unit with modifiers such as increased movement speed, faster redeploy times and faster vehicle call-ins.

Of course, no event is complete without rewards. During the event, players can earn a variety of new cosmetic rewards and bundles.
