Battlefield 2042 Delayed to November 19, 2021

Developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts have taken to Twitter to reveal that Battlefield 2042 worldwide launch has been shifted to November 19, 2021. The original plan was to release the game in October.

Battlefield 2042 is a first-person shooter that marks the return to the iconic all-out warfare of the franchise. Adapt and overcome in a near-future world transformed by disorder. Squad up and bring a cutting-edge arsenal into dynamically-changing battlegrounds supporting 128 players, unprecedented scale, and epic destruction.

“Building the next generation of Battlefield during a global pandemic has created unforeseen challenges for our development teams. Given the scale and scope of the game, we had hoped our teams would be back in our studios together as we move towards launch. With the ongoing conditions not allowing that to happen safely, and with all the hard work the teams are doing from home, we feel it is important to take the extra time to deliver on our vision of Battlefield 2042 for our players.”

Battlefield 2042 is available for pre-order. Pre-ordering the game will provide players with Baku ACB-90 Epic Melee Takedown Knife, “Mr. Chompy” Epic Weapon Charm & “Landfall” Player Card Backgroud & “Old Guard” Tag.

The game is available in three separate editions: Standard, Gold & Ultimate:

  • The standard edition consists of the base game.
  • The Gold Edition of Battlefield 2042 features the base game, provides early access to game launch as well as Year 1 Pass: 4 New Specialists, 4 Battle Passes, 3 Epic Skin Bundles.
  • Ultimate Edition includes the content of the Gold Edition in addition to Midnight Ultimate Bundle, the official digital artbook, and an exclusive digital soundtrack
