A day ago Bioware’s Twitter posted a brief video with footage from the studio’s hit game Mass Effect. The teaser features the very intro into the first game of the series, explaining humanity’s journey into the galactic society, made possible by the discovery of Mass Relays and the Mass Effect technology.
Naturally, the Internet erupted into chaos as the fans of the space opera series took to the comments, trying to figure out the meaning behind the cryptic message. The company has reminded fans that it still has plans for the Mass Effect series but there have been no details revealed. In an article dedicated to Anthem’s overhaul, Kotaku’s Jason Schreier mentioned a new Mass Effect title in very early development:
BioWare, meanwhile, is still invested in role-playing games. In addition to the much-anticipated Dragon Age 4, which BioWare teased last year, a new Mass Effect game is in very early development at the Edmonton office under director Mike Gamble, a longtime BioWare producer.
With that information at hand, it is obvious we can’t expect the next new Mass Effect title any time soon. But could the tweet mean something else? Perhaps, a Nintendo Switch version of Commander Shepard’s adventures?
As the comments show, the fans are excited at the possibility of receiving the trilogy remake/remaster and the short video has given them hope. Stay tuned for more news on the matter!
