In anticipation for its highly anticipated launch, a trailer for Treyarch and Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. This trailer reveals a harrowing cinematic for a game mode that has become ubiquitous with the series: Zombies.

Set in the storied prison Alcatraz, the Zombies mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is entitled Blood of the Dead. This mode seems to be a reimagining of Black Ops 2’s Mob of the Dead and is rumored to have new quests, but containing the original cast of characters from the original.
The Zombies mode has a storied history in the franchise, harkening all the way back to 2008’s entry in the series, Call of Duty: World At War. Originally called Nazi Zombies – which was thematically appropriate for the game’s setting, this game mode dropped the Nazi part and saw consistent revisitation in across the Black Ops series.
