With BlizzCon mere months away, Blizzard Entertainment is beginning to unveil specially-themed goodies for its community. First off the mark is the Starcraft II War Chest: BlizzCon 2019. In actuality, there are three separate chests or a single bundle containing all three.
Terrans, Protoss, and Zerg each have a themed War Chest that features a number of new items including unit skins, decals, sprays, emojis, and portraits. Each individual chest is $9.99, or the complete bundle is $24.99.
Each racial War Chest begins with a single unit skin, a portrait, decal, console skin, and loading screen race banner. But many others can be earned as well. During gameplay, SCII players earn progression experience that gradually unlocks these items. Those who own all three War Chests can earn as many as 80 new items. In addition, developers are promising that players will earn rewards “across other Blizzard titles”. These include a Hearthstone card back, a Diablo 3 Tal’Darim Pet, a Starcraft II Slot Machine Random Banner, and a Heroes of the Storm loot chest.
Even those players who choose not to purchase a War Chest can earn some goodies. There is an additional progression path available that is free to all and it includes skins inspired by Brood War.
