Developer Blizzard Entertainment has taken to the official site to share the annual End-Of-Year Review dedicated to 2024. The letter is written by Johanna Faries, the latest President of Blizzard Entertainment, who is now approaching the first full year in the studio. With the year coming to its end, the developers decided to reflect on the year’s worth of connection, joy, memory-making, and what had been accomplished together with the community.
“As we boldly continue on our mission of fostering joy and belonging for everyone, let’s celebrate some highlights from the past year, which represent only a slice of the many magical moments we’ve experienced together with all of you”
- 8.34 billion total played hours across all games and platforms for 2024;
- More than 378 million total messages sent;
- WoW players eradicated more than 4.5 billion Spiders & Nerubians;
- Rumblers played 400 million Cenarion family minis;
- Hearthstone Battlegrounds enjoyers played over 4 billion Murloc minions;
- Diablo 4 players have killed over 1.7 trillion demons!
- Meanwhile, Diablo Immortal heroes experienced 480 million total player deaths;
- Last but not least, Overwatch agents played over 203 years across 2024’s new clash maps: Hanaoka and Throne of Anubis.
Noticeably, StarCraft didn’t get a mention – but there’s always the next year to turn things around.
