Bloodroots Takes Revenge on PC and Console Today

Bloodroots is bringing some ferociously fun combat to Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC and it all starts today.

The cartoon caper from developer Paper Cult has just arrived across PC and console and to celebrate, a new trailer has bounded out too. Its a tongue in cheek introduction for anybody who isn’t familiar with the bloody tail of payback. After being left for dead, one manly Mr, Wolf is ready to exact some payback with maximum prejudice. The ensuing chaos is a top-down exploration of the Weird West where you’ll choreograph spectacular, ultra-violent combos by making use of everything around you. It seems somehow fitting, therefore, that the launch trailer is a singalong piece and features the lyrics

carrot carrot carrot carrot
carrot carrot carrot carrot
carrot
kill kill kill
turkey turkey turkey turkey
turkey turkey turkey turkey
kill kill kill
ladder ladder ladder ladder
ladder ladder ladder ladder
kill kill kill
paddle paddle paddle paddle
barrel barrel barrel barrel
kill kill kill
….

you get the idea

If you begin this crash course then everything becomes a weapon. Everything from hatchets to ladders and vegetables becomes a makeshift implement of murder and the game clearly revels in its own ridiculous nature. A bright aesthetic, a driving soundtrack and a hardcore ethos are evident in the title that we first glimpsed back at Gamescom 2019. Now, the game is out, you’ll be able to rock out to a Western Electro, Prog Rock Flamenco with a subtle slapstick sound while indulging in the same kind of catharsis that makes the Doom franchise so incredible. Mr. Wolf might even manage to find out why he was left battered and alone.

If you want a game with the attitude of Worms and that cleanup bill of Doom then Blooroots is just about there. The fast pace and slapstick silliness give this lighthearted spree an undeniable charm while confidently burning your enemies alive. Check out the game on the Nintendo eShop, Playstation Store and Epic Games store and grab it for $19.99 / €15.99 / £15.99. The game will also be 10% off for its release week. So if that doesn’t convince you then go talk to Mr. Wolf.
